     SOM BRASILEIRO is a nine piece performance and recording group based in Nashville. Their repertoire consists of traditional and contemporary Brazilian Samba and Jazz, all sung in Brazilian Portuguese. Their CD SOUNDS OF BRAZIL is released on Odyssey Records and was nominated for the Nashville Music Awards 1998 JAZZ ALBUM Of  The YEAR.
   SOM BRASILEIRO has performed in music festivals such as Montreux Atlanta Jazz Festival, Franklin Jazz Festival, Summer Lights Music Festival, Birmingham City Stages, BayFest in Mobile, Bele Chere Music Festival, Norfolk Town Point Jazz Festival, Delta Airlines Inaugural Flights to Brazil Celebration, Bowling Green International Festival, Norfolk HarborFest, Cookeville Jazz Festival and the 1996 Summer Olympics. They've headlined many other festivals and opened for Tania Maria, Pete Escovedo, Joe Henderson, Leon Russell, Dr. John, Three Dog Night, Average White Band and Christopher Cross, to name a few.
